WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki, pronounced ‘ray-key,’ is an ancient form of alternative medicine called energy healing. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means ‘universal, spiritual consciousness, wisdom from God’ and (Ki) which means ‘life force, energy that inhabits all living things.’  Although Reiki is spiritual in nature, it has no religious affiliations and causes no harm.  It is a subtle, gentle, and effective form of energy work where practitioners act as a conduit, using a technique called palm healing.  We access ‘universal life force energy’ via attuned symbols, through the crown of the head, transferred out the hands, and directed into the subject.  Energy flows within and around the physical body (cells, tissues, bones, muscles, organs) and beams throughout the subtle body (biofield, mind, soul, chakras, meridians, auras).

Even though we are often called healers, the Reiki practitioner does not actually ‘heal’ the client.  We facilitate balance within the client’s spiritual, mental, emotional and physical body, which in turn creates a centering effect or clearing of space for the body to naturally heal itself.

DISTANCE REIKI

People are often skeptical of a distant Reiki session, which is completely understandable.  How is someone in another room, another city, or even another country able to experience healing from a Reiki practitioner in a different place? 

Everything is energy.  Quantum physics tells us that the whole universe appears as a dynamic web of inseparable energy patterns.  On the subatomic level “particles” are connected in a way that transcends time and space.  Distance Reiki works according to an ancient principle called the Hermetic Law of Similarity, which holds that we are all connected, as we are all made of energy and part of a larger whole.  Invoking this law during a distance Reiki session allows the practitioner to link up to the divine matrix and connect directly to the energy field of the recipient.  For example, Reiki practitioners are able to carry out a full traditional Reiki session with you from anywhere in the world and you will experience the benefits as if they were in the room with you. In addition, we can send healing energy to someone's past, or their younger self to offer healing from childhood trauma, which will then flow into a client’s present reality.  Similarly, we are able to send Reiki to a client’s future as an offering or blessing for positive intensions for an event, such as an interview or surgery, to go well.

Within the framework of our physical world, everything has to be done in person. If you need a haircut, a massage, dental work, manicure or blood test, it has to be done in person and cannot be done remotely; this is how Distance Reiki differs from other services.  It is much easier for people to accept other energy frequencies that we cannot see, such as electricity, radios, cell phones, the internet, and Wi-Fi.  Initially, these frequencies were thought to be magical and unbelievable, but now they are fully accepted as normal. In order for them to work, you must be tuned in and Distance Reiki works in a similar way.
