My healing practice was born out of the most devastating and traumatic period of my life.   I experienced the loss of my parents, grandmother, best friend, found my roommate deceased, and was discarded by my romantic partner of two years.  This series of events catapulted me into severe depression and anxiety.  I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), suffered from multiple anxiety attacks daily, which led me to the ER on two occasions.  I found it exhausting to simply get out of bed.  The reflection in the mirror was foreign to me.  Although I had the support of a few family members, colleagues, and friends, I felt isolated in my grief and debilitated by depression.  I’d heard that new trauma brings up old trauma and for me it was very true as demons from my past haunted me. I tried multiple anti-depressant prescription medications, but they triggered adverse physical reactions.  Months of untreated heaviness on my soul left me in a state of mind completely void of any and all hope.

A series of events, which I could only describe as divine intervention, led me to draw a direct line between abuses I endured as a child to the type of people I attracted into my life.  My childhood home was a warzone filled with violent screaming, intimidation, control, manipulation, and mental and physical abuse.  All while presenting ourselves as a good Christian family that attended church four times a week.  The hypocrisy was confusing.  I lived in a constant state of fight or flight with no sense of stability or safety, which led to a lifetime of addictions, hormonal imbalances, and inflammation issues. As my mind dissected every intricate moment I could recall, my identity was being stripped down and every decision I made throughout my life finally made sense.  I was able to identify the deeply hidden negative subtext created by a wounded child on continuous repeat in my mind ‘I’m not good enough’ and ‘I don’t deserve to be loved'.  I knew I needed help.

I put my request for help out into the world and the entire universe came together to heal me.  It was miraculous how everything aligned so quickly; a clinical psychologist specializing in personality disorders who uses mindfulness as part of her treatment manifested.  A friend from high school gifted me a distance Reiki session and in just 30-minutes, from afar, Mandi Neubecker-Phillips melted away the heaviness of my grief and pain.  The session transformed low vibration particles such as emotional, mental, and physical pain into high vibration waves.  The stagnant energy I had been holding onto disappeared.  We had a few more distance sessions before I was called to become a Reiki practitioner myself.  Training with Lee Van Zyl, my Reiki Master Teacher, was a transformative experience.  She is an expert healer who inspires confidence in her students as she creates a safe space for vulnerability and learning.  During training, she used me as a test subject in front of the class to demonstrate cord cutting and psychic surgery.  Through the powerful exercise, I was able to release my grasp on the past, forgive, and let go.

Finally, I was introduced to Bruce Lipton (cellular biologist) and Joe Dispenza (neuroscientist).  Their work helped me understand the science behind our mind and behavior.  I was floored to learn that we live 95% in our subconscious mind, which are programmed habits, and only 5% in our conscious mind, which is creative and present.  Our subconscious mind was formed during the third trimester in the womb until age 7 from observing our parents, siblings, and community.  So if you are like me, coming from a dysfunctional family, then the subconscious programs running through your mind are likely negative, disempowering, and self-sabotaging.  So many of us struggle in life to create our wishes and desires, because the programs we downloaded do not support those ends.  Instead, our behavior is sabotaging our dreams and goals.  There are only three ways to reprogram the subconscious mind: (1) hypnosis, (2) repetition habituation, and (3) energy psychology.  Energy Psychology modalities are mechanisms that trigger super learning, which rewrite our beliefs and radically change your life.  This is why I became certified in EFT, and TFT.  The methods used in my practice offers are what have been working for me in my own healing.

My journey has been a roller coaster of many winding paths and it wasn’t until I was attuned to Reiki that I truly felt grounded in spirit and connected to God.  Not only am I human, a woman, and a warrior who walked through and survived darkness (child abuse, and domestic violence), I am also a transformed soul dedicated to share my light spreading love and truth out into the world.  I am grateful for my trauma because it led me to my life’s purpose; using my gifts, knowledge, and abilities to help others turn their pain into power and find or reignite their light too.
